Chinese Cross-Cultural Immersion: Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

To deepen students’ cultural understanding and appreciation of Chinese traditions, Aii Language Center, Siem Reap Campus, hosted a vibrant Chinese Cross-Cultural Immersion event centered on the Mid-Autumn Festival — one of China’s most cherished celebrations.
During the event, students enthusiastically shared the legend and history behind the festival, including the timeless story of Chang’e, the Moon Goddess, and the symbolic meaning of the full moon and mooncakes in family reunion and gratitude. Their storytelling not only strengthened their Chinese language skills but also allowed them to explore the cultural roots of this beautiful tradition.

In addition to storytelling, students participated in hands-on classroom activities, such as crafting colorful lanterns and engaging in interactive Chinese games and songs. These activities fostered creativity, teamwork, and cultural curiosity in a lively and supportive learning environment.

The event also served as a bridge connecting language learning with cultural experience, encouraging students to use Chinese in meaningful, real-world contexts. It was a joyful day filled with learning, laughter, and discovery.
